સફરThe story
Alpa comes from Munjiyasar, a village by Bagasara in Amreli district. Her father died when she was a year old, and the household rested on her mother, Madhuben, and her brother, Mahendra.
In interviews she comes back to the two of them: whenever things got hard, she says, it was her mother and brother who carried her through.
She began singing at ten, joining other singers on stage programmes. At around eleven, a family contact got her a programme in Surat, and more bookings followed.
She kept studying all the while — school in Junagadh district up to Class 12, then a PTC primary-teacher course.
Her work grew out of Gujarat’s folk evenings: the lok dayro, where songs and stories run late into the night; santvani, the songs of the saint-poets; and raas-garba for Navratri.
Mahadev Ni Aarti, her 2017 aarti to Somnath Mahadev, produced with Studio Saraswati in Junagadh, is still the top song on her Apple Music page.

In June 2018 she started Alpa Patel Official on YouTube. Many of its videos credit her brother, Mahendra Patel, as producer, so the family that backed her early on now helps make the music too.
The channel carries garba sets, mashups such as Morli, wedding songs like Sathvaro and a long list of devotional videos, alongside her releases on labels like RDC Gujarati, Studio Saraswati and Shree Ramdoot Music.
Her Navratri non-stop garba sets now run from the 2022 video to Navratri 3.0 (3 Taali Garba) in 2025, made with Maulik Mehta.
The dayro has taken her overseas too: in July 2025 she sang a lok dayro in Leicester, UK, with Rajbha Gadhvi and Raj Gadhvi. In 2026 the releases have been mostly devotional — Vitthal, Swaminarayan, Ganpati and Ambe Maa.
